Doctors

Eric W. Hoffler, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Hoffler was born in Richmond, Virginia and also lived in Germany, South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Texas, and Florida during his childhood. He graduated from high school in Titusville, Florida and received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Florida, graduating from medical school in 1987. He received his pediatric training at the Medical College of Virginia from 1987-1990.

Dr. Hoffler joined ABC Pediatrics in 1990. He and his wife, Cheryl, have 5 children and live in Fayette County. He is active in his church and in medical missions, which is his passion. Other hobbies and interests, in addition to his family, include: photography, gardening, travel, snow skiing, hunting, classical music, and chocolate.

Jamie F. Wallace, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Jamie Wallace was born at in Atlanta and grew up in Marietta, GA. She received her BS degree in Biology from Furman University in Greenville, SC in 1991. Then she received her MD degree in 1995 from the Medical College of Georgia and stayed in Augusta for her residency in Pediatrics.

Dr. Wallace had a strong desire to join a practice with other Christians and was led to ABC Pediatrics in the summer of 1998. She met her husband in the singles group at New Hope Church, and they were married in February of 2001. In the summer of 2006 the Wallaces were blessed with their first child and in 2007 their second child was born.

The Wallaces enjoy travelling a lot! Dr. Wallace has been to 70+ different countries and her husband has been to almost 80! Their favorites are mission trips to tell others the good news about Jesus Christ and His love for them. The couple helps lead a Bible Study Class at New Hope Church North where Dr. Wallace enjoys singing in the choir.

Tereasa A. Ballay, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Tereasa Ballay was born in Virginia and spent her early childhood in Nebraska. At the age of 9, she moved to Arlington, Texas where she later graduated from High School. She graduated from Texas Women’s University with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. She became a doctor in 1997, graduating from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Residency followed at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas.

Dr. Ballay became Board Certified in Pediatrics in October, 2000. Since that time, she has practiced in 2 different pediatric offices in East Texas. The family moved to Georgia in 2005 and she joined ABC Pediatrics that summer. Dr. Ballay is married and has 2 girls. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, swimming, skiing, scrap-booking, and photography.

Dr. Ballay has enjoyed opportunities to participate in community service including Diabetes Camp for Youth, and a mission trip to Mexico. She looks forward to continuing to share her talents and love here in her chosen community.

 

Deanna Smoak, MD
Dr. Deanna Smoak was born in south Georgia and moved to Fayetteville when she was 10 yrs old. She was homeschooled through middle and high school and then attended State University of West Georgia where she received her BS degree in Biology in 2002. Dr. Smoak graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine in 2007 and started here at ABC Pediatrics soon after completing her pediatric residency at University of Alabama in Birmingham in 2010.

As the oldest of six children, Dr. Smoak was always passionate about caring for children and spent a lot of time babysitting and working in the church nursery as a teenager. Her family was not surprised when she chose pediatrics as a career. She enjoyed growing up in Fayetteville and felt that God was leading her back to practice here.

Dr. Smoak is married and has one daughter and one son. She enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family.

 

Nurse Practitioners

Philicia Duncan, PNP
Philicia Kennedy Duncan was born in Albany, GA and moved to Atlanta in 1997. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clayton State University in Morrow, GA. She worked as a Pediatric registered nurse for over 6 years and a Clinical Nursing Instructor for 2 years. In 2007 she obtained her Masters of Science in the Child Health CNS/PNP program at Georgia State University. She joined ABC Pediatrics as a Nurse Practitioner in the winter of 2009. She is currently a member of National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.

Philicia Duncan lives in the Ellenwood area with her husband and two children.

Clara Ruiz Stogner, PNP
Clara Ruiz Stogner was born in Colombia, South America and her family moved to Pasadena, California before Clara was one year old. She graduated from Mt. Saint Mary’s College in Los Angeles with a BS in Nursing and worked in the NICU department s at both Miami Children’s and Tampa General hospitals. From there she travelled to Chapel Hill, NC to work in the hospital’s NICU and Wake Forest to work their Peds ICU.

Clara moved to Atlanta and worked at Northside Hospital’s NICU before attending Georgia State University for her Masters in Science to become a Nurse Practitioner. After graduation, she did her clinicals and then went to work full time at the Longstreet Pediatric Clinic in Gainesville, GA.

Clara moved to Peachtree City in the summer of 2011 where she lives with her husband Eric, and their four children. She goes on Mission trips to various foreign countries and in her spare time she enjoys reading, horseback riding, and hiking.
