Eric W. Hoffler, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Hoffler was born in Richmond, Virginia and also lived in Germany, South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Texas, and Florida during his childhood. He graduated from high school in Titusville, Florida and received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Florida, graduating from medical school in 1987. He received his pediatric training at the Medical College of Virginia from 1987-1990.
Dr. Hoffler joined ABC Pediatrics in 1990. He and his wife, Cheryl, have 5 children and live in Fayette County. He is active in his church and in medical missions, which is his passion. Other hobbies and interests, in addition to his family, include: photography, gardening, travel, snow skiing, hunting, classical music, and chocolate.
Jamie F. Wallace, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Jamie Wallace was born at in Atlanta and grew up in Marietta, GA. She attended Sprayberry High School, and was graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1987. She attended Furman University in Greenville, SC and received her BS degree in Biology in 1991. Afterwards she went to Augusta, GA where she attended the Medical College of Georgia for Medical School. She received her MD degree in 1995. She stayed at MCG for her residency in Pediatrics which was completed in 1998.
Dr. Wallace had a strong desire to join a practice with other Christians and was led to ABC Pediatrics in the summer of 1998. She met her husband in the singles group at New Hope Church, and they were married in February of 2001. In the summer of 2006 the Wallaces were blessed with their first child with whom they love spending time.
The Wallaces enjoy travelling a lot! Dr. Wallace has been to almost 50 different countries and her husband has been to almost 80 countries! Their favorite trips are mission trips to tell others the good news about Jesus Christ and His love for them. The Wallaces help lead a Bible Study Class at New Hope Church North where Dr. Wallace enjoys singing in the choir and is privileged to sing solos from time to time.
Tereasa A. Ballay, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Tereasa Ballay was born in Virginia. Subsequently, her early childhood was spent in Nebraska. At the age of 9, she moved to Arlington, Texas where she later graduated from High School. Her first year in college was in Nevada, Missouri attending Cottey College. She transferred back to Texas Women’s University to complete the pre-med program, majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. Her goal of becoming a doctor was fulfilled in 1997 when she graduated University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Residency followed at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Dr. Ballay became Board Certified in Pediatrics in October, 2000. Since that time, she has practiced in 2 different pediatric offices in East Texas. Dr. Ballay is married and has 2 young girls. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, swimming, skiing, scrap-booking, and photography.
Dr. Ballay has enjoyed opportunities to participate in community service including Diabetes Camp for Youth, and a mission trip to Mexico. She looks forward to continuing to share her talents and love in her new community.
Ekuase Sanusi, M.D., FAAP
A Board Certified Pediatrician and has been in General Pediatric practice since 1997. A Graduate of the College of Medicine University of Lagos, Dr. Sanusi did her Pediatric Internship at New York University (NYU) and her Pediatric Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center where she also served as Chief Resident from 1997-1998.
Dr Sanusi has been at ABC Pediatrics since September of 2006.
She has been happily married to Michael Sanusi a Cardiac Surgeon for 15years and they have four lovely daughters. Dr Sanusi has been a Christian since 1988 and has dedicated her life and career to do God's work and to bring out the best in every child with her holistic approach to medicine.
Candace J. Johnson, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Johnson was born and raised in Ohio, the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. She attended undergraduate school at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Dr. Johnson went to Medical school at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. She completed her Pediatric and Adolescent Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
After braving the cold and snow for three years, she moved to Statesboro, GA. She spent the next 2 years taking care of infants and adolescents in both the office and hospital settings. Dr. Johnson moved to Atlanta in 2003 and worked in a pediatric practice in Lithonia, GA. She came to ABC Pediatrics in May 2008 as a Locum (substitute) physician, and decided to stay on permanently.
Brenda C. Hayek, CPNP
Brenda Hayek is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She has worked in pediatrics as a registered nurse for more than 11 years and has recently graduated from the Child health CNS/PNP program at the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing at Georgia State University. Brenda is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
Brenda was born in North Carolina and moved to Georgia in 2005. She currently lives in Fayetteville with her husband and daughter.
Philicia Kennedy, PNP
Philicia Kennedy obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Clayton State University in Morrow, GA. She worked as a Pediatric registered nurse for over 6 years and a Clinical Nursing Instructor for 2 years. She obtained her Masters of Science in the Child Health CNS/PNP program at Georgia State University in 2007. She is currently a member of National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
She was born in Albany, GA and moved to Atlanta in 1997 to further her education. She currently lives in Ellenwood with her family.
